The Best Movie Poster in Years

Actually, the stories behind the poster are more interesting than the movie itself.

Billy Hill - Glory of Love?

Dear Big World out there:

I am desperately searching for the Billy Hill's song "Glory of Love" (1932? and 1967's Guess Who is Coming to Dinner OST). If you have the mp3 somehow, please, I beg you, please send it to me, because I need it in my track list very very badly.

Here are the lyrics:

You've got to give a little, take a little,
And let your poor heart break a little.
That's the story of, that's the glory of love.
You've got to laugh a little, cry a little,
Until the clouds roll by a little.
That's the story of, that's the glory of love.

As long as there's the two of us,
We've got the world and all it's charms.
And when the world is through with us,
We've got each other's arms.
You've got to win a little, lose a little,
Yes, and always have the blues a little.
That's the story of, that's the glory of love.

That's the story of, that's the glory of,
That's the story of, that's the glory of,
That's the story of,
That's the glory of love

Kilkenny

If I was working as location manager for the next Sony campaign, I'd pick Kilkenny to continue its Color Like.no.other story.

Now, get ready for green January grass and shots that make you dream of Ireland.

Sure, it's Dublin.

The night will be on fire. Sunset over Dublin

Drinks and museums

N., said that if all museums and cathedrals were like Guiness' Storehouse, she'd love to visit them all. As for me, now I'd drink no other beer but Guiness.

Jameson was also interesting especially because at the end I did it - I volunteered to taste 3 whiskeys and I got a few drinks and a diploma that now I'm certified Irish whiskey taster. Go figure.

Giving me a little more time here with you

How many stupid things we are willing to do just to freeze the moment and stay with those we love? Many.

Dublin

Everything you have heard about the Irish and how cool they are, and how many bars and pubs there are in Dublin, as well as how much Irish enjoy life... well, they're all true!

Dublin was so attractive and makes you feel so comfortable that when we just landed in Bucharest and I heard that we're flying back to Ireland as soon as we can, I was the happiest person on the plane.

And then, a day after I was finally home I haven't touched my suitcase but I was already online digging at Aer Lingus for the best offers to Dublin. By the way, Aer Lingus are ultimately cool.

Guiness

This is the story of a dot. A dot who could have been anything but this dot wanted to travel so it became a line.

Watch out for more of Guiness and Ireland in the second half of this month.

Paris in Google Maps - Part 2

It's amazing. I've been browsing through Paris and then I suddenly remembered that small shop where the shopkeeper was always saying Hello as we were passing by no matter the fact that we never entered his shop and we were always saying that finally we will buy some fruits but we were always running to here or there and we never bought anything... Looking at this shop makes me feel "home" (sure just in Paris perspective)

Hey, if anyone knows when they're going to launch other big cities or capitals, please, please, drop me a line!

Street View on Google Maps

Tell me for how long you have known the about the Google Maps' Street View option? And all that time you've been tongue-tied... I just found it and I almost fainted. It's awesome.

I even managed to find the Berthillon place on Île Saint-Louis (or as I call it, the Right Island).

Funny thing is that on one of the perspectives you can even see the crowd waiting in line for the ice-cream. Still you can't see people's faces or car numbers so some level of privacy is kept by Google.

(Click on the images for larger view)

Google Maps has the street view option for selected cities only and sadly London is not among them. With so many CCTV in operation everywhere in the city, it's such a waste that they don't put them into action for something useful.

Here comes Dolly!

Here she is, already home, already quietly examinating her new universe and probably enjoying it.

Amadeus, curious to see who is this but still carefully keeping a respectful distance.

PS: Obviously D. was that excited that he couldn't take good focus with the camera. That's good! It's great to be excited with your new family member, you know!

I love PRET

Everyone has his own reason to love a brand. My love to PRET came last night after I discovered a can of Grape & Elderflower sparkling juice in my apartment.

If I should be honest, all that be-healthy-no-chemicals noise is such a crap to me; but definitely, the grape & elderflower combination kicks and rocks. Great taste for a mere 80 p!

Last, but not least, after so many signs of lower VAT in UK (dropped to 15% from 17,5%) Pret were the only who a kind of complained about things that actually are quite worth complaining - price tickets and menu boards that have to be changed as soon as possible.

Very important footnote: the elderflower picture is taken by http://www.sxc.hu/profile/danchamp

Happy 2009 from London

It's been a long journey in 2008 and we decided that the best ending will be to celebrate New Year in London. So we did. We went to the Parliament square, we had some rum and Coke, we had some Hurrays and then we were just hanging around the city enjoying the crowds and the mess left after they were slowly spreading in the first night of the year.

So here is the story:

0630 pm - Bond Str.

0800 pm - Going here:

0900 pm - The crowd is getting bigger (don't have high expectations on the quality of the video)

1000 pm - Police (wonderful horses!!)

1100 pm - London Eye

0000 am - Big Ben

BBC ONE had better view, but still it hasn't the atmosphere of being down there: people were wow-ing, screaming, and doing all the things people do on New Year. You can't get this in comment on Live TV.

0030 am - Celebration!
By the way, all the time we were listening to BBC Radio One

0300 am - Trafalgar Sq.
